DIRECTOR GENERAL  - Dr. Oluwole Olatunji

Dr. Oluwole Olatunji, is the current Director-General of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi, Lagos – Nigeria.  He attended Molusi College, Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, Nigeria between 1959 – 1963 and Ibadan Grammar School, Ibadan, Nigeria between 1965 – 1966.   He attended University of Ibadan, Nigeria between 1967 and 1970 where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) in Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition, and a Ph.D, in 1974.   In 1977 he attended Centre for Food Technology Research Institute (CFTRI) Mysore India for his Post Doctorate certificate.   He also attended various management courses, including the General Management certificate courses at Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) in 1975 and 1998 respectively.

He belongs to various professional bodies including, The Nutritional Society of Nigeria, The American Association of Cereal Chemistry, and Animal Science Society of Nigeria.   He is a fellow of the Chemical Society of London, Associate member of the Institute of Food Science and Technology of London and Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology.

Dr. O. Olatunji joined FIIRO in November 1974 as a Research Officer Grade 1.  He became the Acting Director/Chief Executive in May 2000 and Director Chief Executive in January 2001.   He was elevated to the position of Director-General, Chief Executive of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi, Lagos, Nigeria in January 2003.

Dr. Olatunji has about 50 major publications to his credit in both National and International Journals.
